Why You Need A Glass Dome
The no nonsense combination of glass and metal make up etúHOME’s new Glass Dome Collection. When I first laid eyes on the stunning array of glass cake domes I was not quite sure what to think. The delicate glass juxtaposed with the metal makes for a statement worthy kitchen accessory. A glass cloche is a must-have product in any kitchen and an easy way to add exquisite beauty to your countertop. But that’s not all, because when the glass dome is placed on top of a reclaimed wood board, something amazing happens. The way etúHOME’s glass domes and wood serving pieces all come together to create a contemporary look. I want to take you through the collection, one by one and share with you my opinion on why these cloches are the perfect addition to any modern kitchen.
For a sleek and clean look, the Bianca Glass Dome is the perfect selection. The dome is created using the bottom of a demijohn bottle after it is hand cut. The sloping sides of the cloche are impressive and the quality of the glass is second to none. In addition to the round iron handle, the copper rim lining the bottom of the dome makes for a simple, yet noteworthy detail.
The Brasserie Glass Dome is petite in size but bold in style. This dome is handcrafted from the bottom of the etúHOME large demijohn bottle and is a welcome addition to any cheese board or charcuterie spread. The glass dome is unique to the collection with an iron bar for easy handling. Its size makes it extremely useful for open shelf styling – one of my favorite kitchen trends at the moment.
The geometric trend is taking over Instagram and it’s one that I have drawn quick to love and obsess over. That being said, I immediately gravitated towards the Bordeaux Glass Dome. etúHOME used their unique glass dome shape and gave it a square handle for a modern sleek look. If you find yourself attracted to a more modern look, that strays from the traditional, this is the glass dome for you.
For a bright and airy kitchen, add in a pop of contrasting black. An easy way to do this is by incorporating the Barcelona Glass Dome into your decor. A sister to the Bianca Glass Dome, the dome boasts the same round handle but in classic black. It’s one of my favorites to cover any of my holiday cakes so the fam can easily dive into another slice when the first one is quickly gobbled up.
